Christmas Banners

This is the other card I made for the July 2013 CCC using red, white and blue.  I chose another sketch challenge, but this time I used the sketch from CAS196.  Here is a link to the gallery.  The banners are 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" wide and I just varied the length so that the banners didn't cover my sentiment.  I used my bone folder to give the banners a slight curl and only attached the banners at the top to give the card some movement.  I found the metal snowflake in my stash and I'm not sure where I picked them up.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink:  Island Indigo
Accessories:  Island Indigo Bakers Twine, Silver Snowflake with Rhinestone Brad, Paper Snips.

Bachelor Buttons

This is a card to thank a caregiver and I kept it very clean and simple. The blossoms were colored with elegant eggplant, lovely lilac and almost amethyst markers and the stem was colored with an old olive marker. I used my stamp-a-ma-jig to help with the placement of the flowers. Once the flowers were stamped I added the triple layers of card stock in almost amethyst and lovely lilac that had the bottom edges punched using the scallop border punch. The sentiment was stamped using lovely lilac ink.

Supplies Used: Paper: Very Vanilla, Almost Amethyst, Lovely Lilac; Ink: Elegant Eggplant, Lovely Lilac, Almost Amethyst, Old Olive Markers; Stamps: More Petal Prints, Thanks for Caring; Other: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Scallop Border Punch

Sparkly Popsicles

Not much stamping has been done here over the past couple of weeks I've been enjoying my grandson and the wonderful weather. It has been very warm and the best place to be is in the pool and that is exactly where I have been. I needed a birthday card for a co-worker and since it has been so hot here lately I decided to "cool" things off with some popsicles! I stamped the popsicle images on water color paper using black staz-on ink and colored them using various SU markers and a blender pen. Sort of a modified/quick version of water coloring. There is a great tutorial on water coloring with blender pens on the Stamping 411 blog here. The stamped image was layered on pink passion card stock that had a double layered scalloped edge. The sentiment was stamped on whisper white card stock and punched out using the jewelry tag punch. I punched out 2 more tags using the jewelry tag punch and pink passion card stock and adhered the sentiment to them which gave me a border in the pink passion. I attached the sentiment to the scalloped edge using bakers twine and then adhered the entire layer to a piece of whisper white card stock that was embossed using the square lattice embossing folder. Of course, it wasn't complete without some glitter to make it sparkle.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Pink Passion, Watercolor; Ink: Black Staz-on, Various SU Markers; Stamps: Sunny Fun, Vintage Labels; Other: Scallop Border Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Bakers Twine, Blender Pen, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dazzling Diamonds Glitter

Simply Oak Leaves

This is a very simple card but the leaf elements stand out which is the effect I wanted. I love the look embossing gives a card and I use it frequently in my cards. This card incorporates two of my favorite embossing folders and neither one competes with the other. The leave image was stamped twice using the Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves ink onto very vanilla card stock and then cut out. Both the leaves and the card base were spritzed with gold pearl ex powder mixed with hairspray. The leaves were mounted on the panel with dimensionals which was wrapped with twine and then the panel was mounted to the card front using dimensionals.

Supplies Used: Paper: Very Vanilla, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip; Ink: Kaleidacolor Autumn Leaves, Chocolate Chip; Stamps: Autumn Leaf Prints, Teeny Tiny Wishes; Other: Square Lattice and Script Embossing Folders, Word Window Punch, Gold Pearl Ex Spritz, Twine, Dimensionals
