Yipee-Skipee! Woo-Hoo! Awesome!

This card was sent to my daughter to celebrate the fact that my husband and I had made the final payment on her college student loans!  I think it took me a little over 6 years to pay off those loans.  I know that most young people starting out today probably have in excess of 50 thousand dollars to pay in student loans.  Neither my husband nor I wanted that for our children so we helped in every way we could to ensure that they didn't have to start their adult lives with such debt.  I love the way this card turned out.  It is a little larger than a standard A2 card but I needed the height in order to include all of the little word bubbles.  As you can see from the number of stamp sets used I was able to have enough words to convey our happiness in acheiving our goal of having the loans paid off in under 10 years!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:Yippee-Skippee, Happy Day, Just Sayin', Happy Hour, Fabulous Phrases, Tiny Talk
Paper:  Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Black, Green Galore, Crumb Cake, Close to Cocoa, Brocade Blue, Pink Pirouette
Ink:  Black, Soft Suede
Accessories:  Owl Builder Punch, Bird Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Pack, Scallop Circle Punch, Cloudy Day Embossing Folder, Woodgrain Embossing Folder, Googlie Eyes, Rhinestones, Tombow Adhesive, Dimensionals

Punch Art Wrenches

It's Monday again and here is another masculine card.  This card was for my brother-in-law who is a mechanic and it incorporates some punch art.   To create the wrench you will need a strip of basic gray card stock that is 1/2" wide and about 2 3/4" long; at one end you will adhere a 1 1/4" circle that was punched using the word window punch and at the other end is a 3/4" circle that was punched around the itty bitty flower (hopefully this make sense).

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Black, Bordering Blue, Island Indigo, DCWV Metallic
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  1 1/4" & 3/4" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch ,Oval Nestabilities Die, Herringbone Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Mini Silver Brads, Dimensionals

Minecraft Birthday

This is a card I made for my nephew.  He loves playing Minecraft and he loved this card.  It wasn't difficult coming up with the elements to put on the card (use google)...but all those 1/4" square pieces...ugh!  I don't think I'll be making another one of these cards any time soon.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Simple Sayings II
Paper:  Whisper White, Green Galore, Gable Green, Black, Basic Gray, Ruby Red, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Brilliant Blue, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  1/4" Square Punch, Tombow Adhesive

Train Punch Art

I found a tutorial on youtube by Sharon White with complete instructions to make this train.  It was very easy to follow and even if you don't have all of the same punches she used you could modify it to suit your needs.  This was the card I made for my grandson's first birthday and I made him a train cake too!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Vintage Labels

Birthday Birdie

I made this card for a very good friend of mine.  The picket fence card base was something that I found in my stash and I had to find some way to use it.  Once I added the sky and grass the fence section kept popping open and since I wanted the fence to remain closed I glued the latch piece at the top of the fence section and then attached the whole piece to another whisper white card base so that I could add a sentiment on the inside of the card.  My friend loves anything that has a little sparkle and shine to it so I decided to add some flowers with rhinestone centers.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  For the Birds, A Little Birdie Told Me
Paper:  Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Old Olive, Pink Pirouette
Ink:  Black, Bashful Blue, Pink Pirouette
Accessories:  Picket Fence Die Cut Card Base, Cloudy Day Embossing Folder, Mini Flower Punch, Rhinestones, Sizzlits Branch with Leaves, Sizzlits Little Leaves, Bakers Twine, Oval Nestabilities Die, Hodgepodge Hardware, Tombow Adhesive, Dimensionals

SpongeBob Square Pants!

How about some punch art!  My great-nephew turned 2 and had a SpongeBob Square Pants themed birthday party and I couldn't resist the challenge to create a card to go with the theme.  There are several versions of punch art SpongeBob cards and this is my version.  Actually, this was a fairly easy card to create you just need circle punches.

Supplies Used:
Paper:  Yoyo Yellow, Black, Whisper White, Island Indigo, Kiwi Kiss, Riding Hood Red, Rose Red
Ink:  Crumb Cake, More Mustard
Accessories:  1/4", 1/2", 3/4", 1", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Square Punches, Jewelry Tag Punch, Small Heart Punch, Small Oval Punch, Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder, White Gel Pen, Dimensionals

Strawberry Vine

I'm not sure where I saw the idea first that used heart punches to create strawberries but I finally got the chance to create my own card using the same idea.  I opted to use the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit to make the "strawberries".  I stamped the vine using an image from Flowering Flourishes and added my strawberries and blossoms to the vine with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Flowering Flourishes
Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Yoyo Yellow
Ink:  Old Olive
Accessories:  Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Branches with Leaves Die, Boho Blossoms Punch, Mini Punch Pack, Scallop Eyelet Border Punch, Circle Nestabilities Dies, Crop-a-Dile, Paper Doily, Gingham Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

It's Grilling Season

In our family Memorial Day usually is the start of our grilling season so I thought I'd post this card with a "punch art" grill.  I needed a birthday card for my brother-in-law and he is the "grill master" in our family so this is what I came up with.  The grill was very easy to create and requires minimal effort.  The grass is actually the icicle punch by Martha Stewart just turned upside down.  I also sponged some clouds (they are very faint) and added the cat image to balance out the card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Best Dad Ever, Little Hellos
Paper:  Whisper White, Glorious Green, Black, Ballet Blue, DCWV Silver
Ink:  Black, SU Markers
Accessories:  1 3/8" Circle Punch, Small Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Icicle Border Punch (MS), Slot Punch, Crop-a-Dile, Silver Brad, Dimensionals

Star Wars Angry Birds

My grandson turned 5 this past week and when I asked him what kind of party he wanted he knew exactly what he wanted...an Angry Birds Star Wars party.  I've made his birthday cake every year and I try to make the card to match the theme.  The cake was the easy part since I was able to purchase the small characters but the card was a bigger challenge.  I spent most of one day just punching and gluing all the little pieces but the result was exactly what I had hoped for.

Stamps:  You're My Type, Let it Snow
Paper:  Not Quite Navy, Midnight Muse, Whisper White, Very Vanilla, Black, Basic Gray, Chocolate Chip, Early Espresso, Real Red, Cherry Cobbler, Pink Pirouette, So Saffron, Bashful Blue, More Mustard, Brushed Silver

Beer Mug

I made this card for a guy I work with and he loved it.  To make the beer mug, begin with a 4" x 5 1/2" card base and so saffron card stock.  To create the handle of the mug trim off a 1 1/4" square at the top and bottom on the folded edge and punch the handle out with the word window  punch.  Round the edges with a corner rounder punch on the handle and the bottom edges of the beer mug.  Cut 3 strips 1/2" x 5" and use a 1" circle punch to round the ends.  Sponge all edges of the so saffron card stock using more mustard ink.  Punch 3 scallop circles in whisper white card stock and 5 small scallop circle flowers using the boho blossoms punch and sponge edges using bashful blue ink.  Adhere elements as shown making sure the card will fit into a standard A2 envelope.  I used my grid paper to ensure I didn't exceed the 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" standard A2 card measurements.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Vintage Labels
Paper:  Whisper White, So Saffron
Ink:  Black, Bashful Blue, More Mustard
Accessories:  Scallop Circle Punch, Boho Blossoms Punch, 1" Circle Punch, Word Window Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Jewelry Tag Punch, Linen Thread

Sweet Puppy

HYCCT Challenge Dated October 26th - Who Let The Dogs Out?

The challenge was to make a card for someone having a "ruff" day.  Of course there had to be a dog on it and also to include pink.  Naturally I don't own any stamps with dogs so I resorted to punch art for my creation.  Since I wanted to include the color pink I had to make a girl puppy.  I think she looks sweet and don't you just love the rhinestone collar!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Occasional Quotes
Paper:  Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Chocolate Chip, Petals & Paisleys DSP
Ink: Crumb Cake, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  3/4", 1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Crop-a-Dile, Owl Punch, Blossom Petals Punch, Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Rhinestones, Dimensionals

Beehive

HYCCT Challenge Dated October 10th - Ship Shape

The challenge was to make a shaped card - no circle, rectangle or square cards. I found a free quilt applique template on-line for this beehive and everything just came together.  I just traced the template on my so saffron folded card base and then traced it again on another piece to cut apart to add some dimension.  I sponged all of the edges with more mustard ink to add some depth.  The bees were created using the small oval punch (3/4" x 15/16") with barely banana and early espresso card stock for the body, 1/2" circle punch for the head in barely banana and the heart to heart punch for the wings with some glitter paper.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Teeny Tiny Wishes
Paper: Very Vanilla, Barely Banana, So Saffron, Close to Cocoa, Early Espresso, DCWV Glitter Pack
Ink: So Saffron, More Mustard, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Small Oval Punch, 1/2" Circle Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Word Window Punch, Owl Punch, Chocolate Chip Satin Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Tombow Adhesive, Dimensionals
