Birthday Popsicles

I'm sure with the warm summer that most of us have been experiencing there have been a few popsicles consumed.  These popsicles can't be eaten but you can enjoy the scent because they were embossed using Stampin' Up's scented embossing powder.  Once the images were inked and cut out, I used versa mark ink on the popsicle portion and embossed them with the scented embossing powder.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Mouthwatering, Sweet Cake
Paper: Whisper White, Cherry Cobbler
Ink: Pumpkin Pie, Cherry Cobbler, Crumb Cake, Versa Mark
Accessories: Framelits Die, Cherry and Melon Scented Embossing Powder, Cherry Cobbler Scallop Dot Ribbon, Pumpkin Pie & Real Red 1/8" Taffeta Ribbon, Dots Embossing Folder, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Graphic Birthday

Most of the people I know struggle with creating cards for the men in their lives.  I've found that if you keep things simple it becomes easier.  For this card the most difficult part was getting the squares all lined up evenly.  I only used one stamped image on this card but by using a graphic layout the overall card has more of an impact.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Punch Bunch
Paper: Whisper White, Basic Gray, Black
Ink: Black
Accessories: Postage Stamp Punch, Silver Brads, Dimensionals

Vintage Looking Wallpaper

This is a card I made for one of my co-workers.  I really wanted to use the Fresh Vintage stamp but I didn't want the image to be just one color so I used various markers to color the flowers and stems.  I used my stamp-a-ma-jig so that the images were place exactly where I wanted them.  Once I had the piece stamped it looked like old fashioned wallpaper to me so I kept the other elements simple so that the background would be the star.

Supplies Used:
Stamps: Fresh Vintage, Sincere Salutations
Paper: Whisper White, Lovely Lilac
Ink: Lovely Lilac, Pixie Pink, Brilliant Blue, Sage Shadow (all markers)
Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Oval Nestablities, Wide Oval Punch, Designer Frame Embossing Folder, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Pearls, Rhinestone, Lace, Frost White Shimmer Mist, Dimensionals

Christmas in July

It seems like Christmas comes earlier and earlier in retail every year.  I stopped in at Hobby Lobby yesterday and was surprised to see so many Christmas things out already.  With that in mind I thought I would post a couple of Christmas cards that I've made so far this year.

Both of these cards utilize some of the Stampin' Up rub-ons that I've had for some time now. I'm trying to use some of my supplies that I've had for years instead of buying new.  For the card with Santa, all of the rub-ons are on card stock and the for the card below I used acetate for the main rub-on image and card stock for the small snowflakes.  The acetate piece was attached to the red card stock with mini silver brads because I didn't want to have any adhesive showing.

I wanted to get a jump start on Christmas cards and one of my New Year's resolutions was to create at least 10 Christmas cards a month.  I'm happy to say that I've completed over 50 cards so far.  Not exactly the 10 a month I was hoping for but still so much more than I've had in previous years.  It has been such a great summer so far I've neglected my stamping except for cards that I absolutely had to make (birthday, anniversary, sympathy, etc).

The branch image from this stamp set is so versatile.  I was disappointed that this set never made it to the main catalog, luckily my sister owns the set so I was able to borrow it.  For this card I stamped the french script background in crumb cake and then stamped the branch image in basic brown over the top.  The blossoms were colored with groovy guava.
