Masculine Birthday Wishes

I got to thinking that since most of us struggle with masculine cards (including me), I would make an effort to post masculine cards on Monday's and call it "Masculine Monday".  Hopefully, I will be able to come up with enough ideas without repeating myself and also create a nice stash of masculine cards for myself.  I tend to create masculine cards that use geometric shapes whether they are circles, squares, stars, etc.  I don't own many stamps that I would necessarily consider masculine so that is probably why I tend to go for geometric shapes.  This card incorporates both circles and stars but one doesn't overpower the other.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Happiest Birthday Wishes
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Close to Cocoa, More Mustard, Not Quite Navy, More Mustard DSP, Not Quite Navy DSP
Ink:  Not Quite Navy
Accessories:  Circle Nestabilities Dies, Small Star Punch, Large Star Punch, Vintage Brads, Dimensionals

SpongeBob Redux

Last year I made a birthday card for my great-nephew who had a SpongeBob themed birthday party and I've had several requests to make this card again from friends of mine.  You can view my original card here.  It really isn't a difficult card to create since you are primarily using circle punches.

Supplies Used:
Paper:  Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow, Kiwi Kiss, Black, Baroque Burgundy, Rose Romance, Brocade Blue
Ink:  Crumb Cake, More Mustard
Accessories:  Various Circle Punches, Tiny Bubbles Embossing Folder, Sponge Daubers, White Gel Pen, Adhesive, Dimensionals

Six-Sided Catalog CASE

This is a CASE from a card in the 2013-2014 Stampin' Up Idea Book & Catalog.  Of course it isn't an exact replica but the basic layout and idea came from the catalog.  The stamp-a-ma-jig came in very handy in creating this card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Six-Sided Sampler
Paper:  Whisper White, Soft Sky
Ink:  Soft Sky, Gumball Green, Smoky Slate, Black
Accessories:  3/4" Circle Punch, Hexagon Punch, Bitty Banners Framelits, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dew Drop, Crystal Effects, Dimensionals

Sweet Baby

A quick and cute baby card that was a part of a set of cards I made for a friend of mine.  Although this card could be for either a boy or girl for some reason I see it as a card for a baby boy.  I think it might be because the designer paper has stripes of blue.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  So Many Scallops
Paper:  Whisper White, Crumb Cake, Certainly Celery, Delicate Dots DSP
Ink:  Certainly Celery
Accessories:  Number Collage Embossing Folder, Scallop Punch, Circle Nestabilities Dies, Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Bakers Twine, Buttons, Dimensionals

Congratulations

Most of the cards that I will be posting of the next couple of weeks are cards that I made as gifts for a couple of friends of mine.  I still have card stock and supplies that were discontinued years ago by Stampin' Up and the majority of these cards were made using the discontinued card stock and supplies.  You could probably recreate most of them just by changing the colors and stamps used.  For this card I stamped the image twice using brilliant blue and summer sun ink and then cut every other section from the summer sun image and glued them to the brilliant blue image.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Take a Spin, All-Year Cheer I
Paper:  Whisper White, Summer Sun, Brilliant Blue, Glorious Green
Ink:  Brilliant Blue, Summer Sun
Accessories:  Game Spinners, Large & Small Star Punches, Circle Nestabilites Dies, Brilliant Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Tombow Adhesive, Dimensionals

Tasteful Trim Masculine Birthday

WOW!!  I can't believe that the last time I posted anything to my blog was at the end of March! I have been stamping and making cards but just haven't had much time to keep up with my blog.  My intentions of course are to blog my creations since I take the pictures, edit the size and make minor color adjustments but I just never seem to find the time to post them.  I do have several cards to post, so at least for the next couple of weeks you will see some of the cards I have created over the past couple of months.

I know we all struggle to make masculine cards so lets start with a masculine birthday card.  This card uses several shades of blue (some have been discontinued) and the tasteful trim bigz die for a quick and simple card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Delightful Dozen
Paper:  Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Night of Navy, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy, Blue Bayou
Ink:  Brocade Blue, Night of Navy
Accessories:  Tasteful Trim Bigz Die, Night of Navy Grosgrain Ribbon, Mat Pack, Paper Piercing Tool, Mini Silver Brads, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
