I wanted to try something new and I needed a masculine birthday card and this card is a completely different style of card from what I normally create. I used my square nestabilities dies to cut various sizes of squares and just started laying them out on the card front until I was happy with the design and then I glued them all down.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Vintage Labels Paper: Whisper White, Sage Shadow, Bordering Blue, Not Quite Navy Ink: Not Quite Navy Accessories: Square Nestabilities Dies, Tombow Adhesive
Time for a winter holiday card. Although I completed all my holiday cards and have them mailed I didn't get a chance to post all of my designs. This card was created for the October Christmas card challenge. October's challenge was to make a card for another winter holiday. Not everyone celebrates Christmas so this challenge was the perfect opportunity to make a winter card and what could be more about winter than a snowman.
Another birthday card for a co-worker. To keep the leaves and french text in a vertical line I used my stamp-a-ma-jig. I use the stamp-a-ma-jig on almost all of my cards and it is one of the most used tools other than my paper cutter.
Supplies Used: Stamps: French Foliage, Bring on the Cake Paper: Very Vanilla, Mellow Moss, Really Rust Ink: Really Rust, Mellow Moss Accessories: Autumn Accents Bigz Die, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Very Vintage Button, Linen Thread, Extra Large Oval Punch, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
I saw this card on Splitcoast and loved the vintage look of it. The only thing I changed was the sentiment since I needed another birthday card for a co-worker.

This fancy cake was a birthday card for a co-worker. I make birthday cards for all of my co-workers and sometimes it isn't easy coming up with different ideas and designs. I am really making an effort to use my supplies and not purchase new things other than whisper white and very vanilla card stock and embellishments. I'm hoping to put together some greeting card sets in the new year that hopefully will use up a good portion of my older card stock and designer series paper.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Embellished Events Paper: Whisper White, Pretty in Pink, Green Galore, Making Memories My Kids Collection Katie DSP Ink: Pretty in Pink, Green Galore Accessories: Circle and Scallop Circle Nestabilities Dies, Bitty Banner Framelits, Boho Blossoms Punch, Corner Rounder Punch, Dots Embossing Folder, Rhinestones, Dimensionals
I finally have all my Christmas cards completed and mailed so I'm back to my normal posts and since it's Monday we have a masculine card. The most time consuming part of this card was stitching the leaves.
I am finally posting the last group of 5 cards I made for the HYCCT Challenges this year. I hope you have enjoyed seeing all of the cards as much as I enjoyed making them. It is such a nice feeling to create cards for others.

I'm not sure how many of you know, but for the past 5 years Splitcoaststampers has partnered with the UT MD Anderson Cancer Center in Texas for a month long
card drive to benefit those affected by breast cancer. If you would like more information click this link. I have been participating each year and truly enjoy the challenges. I did not get the opportunity to post each card separately this year so I thought that I would post a few cards each day for the next few days. I won't go into much detail on each card but I will post supplies used. Enjoy!

I saw this card by Michelle Zindorf and thought I would give her technique a try. I made an A2 card instead of a square card but kept the same basic layout. I need more practice on the direct to paper technique, but all in all I think it turned out pretty nice.

I made this card for a very good friend and I'm finally getting around to posting it. This took me about 3 hours to create. It isn't the putting it together that takes time, it is all the little elements that have to be created before you can even begin to assemble the box. It was difficult trying to get a photo that captured all of the elements and also showed all of the dimension. I'm still not happy with the photo but this does show all of the little elements that were put into creating this piece of art.

The September 2014 Christmas card challenge was to incorporate the "chalkboard" technique on a card. Instead of using black card stock I chose to use always artichoke card stock. It is dark enough to get the chalkboard effect but is green in keeping with a traditional Christmas color.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Sidekick Sayings Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Certainly Celery, Silver Glimmer, Wintergreen DSP Ink: Craft White Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Various Star Punches, Banner Framelits Dies, Silver Cord, Silver Mini Brads, Dimensionals
Another quick birthday card for a co-worker. This stamp set was sitting on my work table so I went with it, then I dug through some of my discontinued card stock for colors to use and this card is the result. I think the color combination is really fresh.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Petal Parade, Bring on the Cake Paper: Whisper White, Mint Melody, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy Ink: Mint Melody, Bashful Blue, Not Quite Navy Accessories: Edgelits Finishing Touches, Frost White Shimmer Mist, Rhinestones
I went digging through some of my older stamp sets to come up with something different for a masculine card and saw this set called "Wonderful Weaves". The images remind me of fabric that would be used for a man's sport coat. I inked up the images and spritzed them with water and then stamped them onto some watercolor paper. I'm not sure if I should have used more water or possibly wet the watercolor paper first but I was afraid that I would end up with images that were blurred or just big splotches of color. I'll have to experiment more with this technique. I do like how the card turned out and overall I'm pleased with the result.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Wonderful Weaves, Happiest Birthday Wishes Paper: Watercolor, More Mustard, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Black Ink: More Mustard, Old Olive, Not Quite Navy, Black Accessories: Small & Large Star Punches, 1/4" Circle Punch, Spritzer, Dimensionals
The August 2014 Christmas card challenge was to include a torn paper edge in the card. I knew that I would use whisper white card stock as my torn paper edge to represent snow drifts but I wanted to keep the card simple because I really don't want to have to pay extra postage when I mail my Christmas cards. Once I had the tree embossed I added the snowflakes using white craft ink to create a soft snowfall effect. The snowdrifts looked a little lackluster so I added some dazzling details to the torn edge to give it a little sparkle.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Warmth & Wonder, Festive Favorites Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue Ink: Bashful Blue, Versa Mark, Craft White Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Dazzling Details, Pearls, Dimensionals
I needed a card for a friend and I didn't have a lot of time so I CASE'd a card I saw in the idea book
and catalog. I changed the colors but kept the same basic layout. I created a similar card using different colors that you can see here.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Itty Bitty Banners Paper: Whisper White, Green Galore, Sahara Sand, Sassy DSP Ink: Green Galore, Sahara Sand, Perfect Plum Accessories: Stamp-a-ma-jig, Bitty Banners Framelits, Green Galore Grosgrain Ribbon, Vintage Violet Stitched Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Wooden Skewer
The July 2014 Christmas card challenge was to take an element(s) inspired by the 4th of July and incorporate it into a card. I used red, white and blue and I also added a little bit of sparkle (inspired by sparklers and/or fireworks) by adding some rhinestones.
Supplies Used: Stamps: Bootiful Occasions Paper: Whisper White, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Not Quite Navy Ink: Black Accessories: Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Sizzlit Large Delicate Doily, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Circle Nestabilities Die, Paper Snips, White Gel Pen, Rhinestones, Dimensionals
The main flowers for this card are from a hostess set called "I Like You". The images lend themselves well to embossing on colored card stock and then coloring them in with various coordinating shades of markers to achieve a shaded effect. I don't own any of the blendabilities but was able to achieve a good effect using the regular Stampin' Up markers.
Supplies Used: Stamps: I Like You, Express Yourself Paper: Whisper White, Regal Rose Ink: Versa Mark, Regal Rose, Rose Romance, Blushing Bride, Certainly Celery, Old Olive Accessories: White Embossing Powder, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Dimensionals
