Washi Tape Birthday

I needed a card for my sister's birthday and she is also a stamper but hasn't used washi tape yet so I thought I would send her some inspiration.  This card is basically a case of a card created by Sandi MacIver.  I didn't own all of the items she used for her card but she deserves the credit for the design.  This card came together very quickly and needless to say I had to pay extra postage to have the card hand cancelled but it was worth it.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Vintage Vogue, Bring on the Cake
Paper:  Whisper White, Strawberry Slush
Ink:  Strawberry Slush
Accessories:  Gingham Garden Washi Tape, Brights Buttons, Pearls, Rhinestones, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Mini Glue Dots

Christmas Banners

This is the other card I made for the July 2013 CCC using red, white and blue.  I chose another sketch challenge, but this time I used the sketch from CAS196.  Here is a link to the gallery.  The banners are 1 1/4" and 1 1/2" wide and I just varied the length so that the banners didn't cover my sentiment.  I used my bone folder to give the banners a slight curl and only attached the banners at the top to give the card some movement.  I found the metal snowflake in my stash and I'm not sure where I picked them up.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Greetings of the Season
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink:  Island Indigo
Accessories:  Island Indigo Bakers Twine, Silver Snowflake with Rhinestone Brad, Paper Snips.

Ornaments with Sparkle

I finally finished the cards I made for the July Christmas card challenge.  The challenge was to use red, white and blue.  I actually used very vanilla for the white because the designer paper I wanted to use has very vanilla in it instead of white.  This was the first card I made and I was at a loss on what to create and went in search of a sketch and chose sketch #42 from the Merry Monday Christmas Card Challenges.  You can see the sketch here.  To create the cherry cobbler layer for the sentiment I cut a rectangular piece that measures 1 3/4" x 3 1/4" and punched out 2 circles using the 1" circle punch.  I attached the circles to the ends first and then layered the sentiment on the rectangular section.  The flags strips were cut at 3/4" and 1" wide and then I just varied the lengths.  I used a 1/4" strip of silver glimmer paper to create the tops of the ornaments and then trimmed them to fit.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  More Merry Messages
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Cherry Cobbler, Silver Glimmer, Festival of Prints DSP
Ink:  Cherry Cobbler
Accessories:  Snow Burst Embossing Folder, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Holiday Ornaments Framelits, 1" Circle Punch, Rhinestones, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

Strawberry Vine

I'm not sure where I saw the idea first that used heart punches to create strawberries but I finally got the chance to create my own card using the same idea.  I opted to use the Fashionable Hearts Embosslit to make the "strawberries".  I stamped the vine using an image from Flowering Flourishes and added my strawberries and blossoms to the vine with dimensionals.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Flowering Flourishes
Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red, Old Olive, Soft Sky, Yoyo Yellow
Ink:  Old Olive
Accessories:  Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Branches with Leaves Die, Boho Blossoms Punch, Mini Punch Pack, Scallop Eyelet Border Punch, Circle Nestabilities Dies, Crop-a-Dile, Paper Doily, Gingham Ribbon, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Mosaic Madness Birthday

I may have gotten carried away with the mosaic tiles for this card but the stamp set is called "Mosaic Madness".  This was made for a very special friend so I didn't mind all the work that went into creating the card.  The most time consuming part was getting everything lined up - thank goodness for my stamp-a-ma-jig and grid paper!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Mosaic Madness, Petite Pairs
Paper:  Whisper White, Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa
Ink:  Soft Sky, Close to Cocoa
Accessories:  Modern Mosaic Embossing Folder, Mosaic Punch, 1 1/4" & 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch Pack, Rhinestones, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Dimensionals

Christmas Quilt

This is the other quilt card I made for the June 2013 Christmas card challenge.  I was inspired by this card created by Nancy Riley.  The center is a 1 1/4" square and the dsp strips were all cut at 1/4".  I basically followed the instructions Nancy provided and although it was time consuming I like how the card turned out.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Heard from the Heart
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Ink:  Real Red
Accessories:  Fashionable Hearts Embosslit, Adorning Accents Edgelits, Square Lattice Embossing Folder, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Paper Piercing Tool, Essentials Paper Piercing Template, Dimensionals

Quilted Star

I have a couple more Christmas cards to post yet so I can get caught up on the challenges.  The June 2013 Christmas card challenge was to make a quilt card.  I'm not a quilter so I had to do some searching to find some easy instructions and I found this card made by Karen Barber.  She had good instructions on her blog but I did modify the square size to suit my card.  I only made four of the quilted star cards so in order to complete my goal of eight Christmas cards per challenge I decided to look for different quilt instructions for the other four cards.  I will post the other design tomorrow with links to the instructions and my inspiration.

Supplies Used:
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Real Red, Wild Wasabi, Holly Berry Bouquet DSP
Accessories:  Computer Generated Sentiment, 1" Square Punch, Button, 1/8" Tafetta Ribbon, Finial Press Embossing Folder, Grid Paper, Adhesive, Mini Glue Dots

Layered Snowflakes

I don't know where the time goes, but I'm finally getting back to posting some cards.  This was the card I made for the May 2013 Christmas card challenge.  Actually, I made 8 cards but they all look basically the same.  It was a sketch challenge and this is what I came up with.  I did modify the sketch slightly by having the background layer larger than what the sketch showed.  I think I ended up using most of the large felt flurries that I had left from a couple of years ago.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Short & Sweet
Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red, Baja Breeze, Ski Slope DSP
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  Felt Flurries (Large & Small), Snow Flurries Embossing Folder, Rhinestone Brads, Frost White Shimmer Mist, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
