Punch Art Wrenches

It's Monday again and here is another masculine card.  This card was for my brother-in-law who is a mechanic and it incorporates some punch art.   To create the wrench you will need a strip of basic gray card stock that is 1/2" wide and about 2 3/4" long; at one end you will adhere a 1 1/4" circle that was punched using the word window punch and at the other end is a 3/4" circle that was punched around the itty bitty flower (hopefully this make sense).

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Itty Bitty Banners
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Black, Bordering Blue, Island Indigo, DCWV Metallic
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  1 1/4" & 3/4" Circle Punches, Word Window Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch ,Oval Nestabilities Die, Herringbone Embossing Folder, Bitty Banners Framelits, Mini Silver Brads, Dimensionals

Minecraft Birthday

This is a card I made for my nephew.  He loves playing Minecraft and he loved this card.  It wasn't difficult coming up with the elements to put on the card (use google)...but all those 1/4" square pieces...ugh!  I don't think I'll be making another one of these cards any time soon.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Simple Sayings II
Paper:  Whisper White, Green Galore, Gable Green, Black, Basic Gray, Ruby Red, Pink Pirouette, Rose Red, Brilliant Blue, Soft Suede, Chocolate Chip, Creamy Caramel
Ink:  Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  1/4" Square Punch, Tombow Adhesive

Graduation Cards

I know most of you have probably already completed all the graduation cards you will need for this year but I'm slow in getting my cards completed and posted.  I try to incorporate the school colors for graduation cards and I needed a card for my niece who lives in Florida (green & black) and a card for my nephew who lives in New York (orange & black).  It was nice not having to come up with two different designs.  All I had to do was change the colors to match the school colors.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Word Play
Paper: Whisper White, Black, Garden Green, Garden Green DSP, Pumpkin Pie, Pumpkin Pie DSP
Ink:  Black, Garden Green, Pumpkin Pie
Accessories:  2 1/2" Circle Punch, Silver Brads, Hodgepodge Hardware Stylized Silver, Paper Snips, Dimensionals

Bright Quilt Squares

I wanted to use some of the bright card stock that was discontinued and came up with the idea of creating a quilt.  This technique could be used for many cards as long as the stamp image can fit within the parameters of the square.  For this card, each of the squares is 1 1/4" so the completed quilt section measures 3 3/4" x 5" which works perfectly for a 4 1/4" x 5 1/2" card base.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  With All My Heart
Paper:  Whisper White, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Pink Passion
Ink:  Versa Mark, Black
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, 1 1/4" Square Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, White Taffeta Ribbon, Dimensionals

Masculine Monday Birthday

Here we are again with another masculine birthday card.  This was a card I made for one of my co-workers.  I kept the card very simple but by placing the focal point on an angle it gives the card more interest.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Remembering Your Birthday
Paper:  Whisper White, Brocade Blue, Pool Party DSP
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  1 1/4" and 1 3/8" Circle Punches, Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Thinking of You

As I was looking through my stash of discontinued card stock I kept trying to come up with something using orchid opulence card stock.  Purple (and any of the various shades) is not my favorite color (gasp!).  I know so many people whose favorite color is purple but it just doesn't do it for me.  According to the color wheel, orchid opulence and marvelous magenta coordinate with each other so I decided to put them together on a card along with kiwi kiss.  Low and behold, it all works and I actually like this card (even though there is so much purple color).

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Of the Earth, Sincere Salutations
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Orchid Opulence, Marvelous Magenta, Kiwi Kiss, Kiwi Kiss DSP
Ink:  Marvelous Magenta, Early Espresso
Accessories:  Kiwi Kiss Striped Ribbon, Pearls, Dimensionals

Here for Each Other

I've made several versions of this card using the labels collections framelits and the best part is that you can create two cards because you actually cut the pieces in half.  This is one of my favorite techniques using the labels framelits.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Bloomin' Marvelous
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Almost Amethyst, Certainly Celery, Almost Amethyst DSP
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  Labels Collections Framelits, Fancy Fan Embossing Folder, Oval Frame Embossing Folder, Bird Builder Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch, EK Success Scallop Oval Punch, Vanilla Taffeta Ribbon, Pearls, Dimensionals

Ink:  Cameo Coral
Accessories:  Elegant Butterfly Punch, EK Success Medallion Chain Punch, Oval Punch, Scallop Oval Punch, Elegant Lines Embossing Folder, Coral Satin Ribbon, Rhinestones, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

Trio of Flowers

You know how sometimes the idea for a card is there but something just seems missing, that is how I feel about this card.  I'm not sure what it is about this card but it isn't a favorite of mine.  But, I thought I should post it anyway just to show that all of our creations can't be exactly what we imagine they will be.

Paper:  Mauve Mist, Eggplant Envy, Sage Shadow
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Vine Street Embossing Folder, Flower Burst Embosslit, Beautiful Wings Embosslit, Scallop Border Punch, Frost White Shimmer Mist, Pearls, Dimensionals

Birthday Stars

I thought since today is July 4th this post should be in keeping with the day.  Sorry, no blue on this card but it has red and white and stars.  It is also a birthday card and since the 4th of July is considered America's birthday hopefully this works.

Watercolor Roses

You must see the watercolor roses technique by Patty Bennet if you haven't already.  The images turn out absolutely gorgeous and her technique is very simple and easy to follow.  She created a video tutorial showing her technique and if you click here, it will bring you to her tutorial.  I couldn't believe how simple it was to create these roses and how absolutely gorgeous they look.

Supplies Used:

Perk Up!

This is another card I made for one of the card sets I created for a friend of mine.  When I saw this set in the catalog I had to have it but I don't get to use it as much as I thought I would.  I think it is one of those timeless sets though.  I mean, people have been drinking coffee and tea for centuries!

Ink:  Black, Island Indigo, Pool Party, Tangerine Tango, Summer Starfruit
