Let's Go Skiing

I pulled this stamp set out and was determined to make a card using it. I really like all the images in this set but the background paper was about skiing and snowboarding so I stamped the ice skates and just trimmed the blades off. Now they are ski or snowboard boots. This is another card for the Hope You Can Cling To challenges. The challenge was to have the image popped up off of the paper and both the boots and the circle are popped up with dimensionals.

Quilt Patches

This stamp set is probably over 10 years old and when I was going through my Christmas stamp sets I decided to bring this out and work with it. The images are very country quilt looking to me. Each image was stamped twice so that I could cut out the main image and attach it with dimensionals to the squares. The squares were cut out and attached to a scallop square and then the cut out image was attached with dimensionals. The buttons were threaded with linen thread and attached with mini glue dots. Once all the coloring and piecing was completed this card came together fairly quickly with the help of a sketch challenge from Splitcoast Stampers (SC285).

Eskimo Girl

I tried completing this card yesterday but no matter what I did nothing seemed to work. I thought about leaving it with no extra embellishments but it just didn't seem finished. I tried to add narrow ribbon, wide ribbon, felt snowflakes, corduroy buttons, etc and nothing seemed to work so I set it aside and came back to it today. I added the rhinestones to her coat and 3 dew drops and decided I was happy with the results.

All About The Ribbon

I've had this decorative paper for years now and as I've stated in many of my posts "I really want to use the supplies I already have". Of course that will take years! Can you believe a card with no stamping?! I really like how this card turned out and what a great way to use decorative paper. The hardest part is getting all the scallops lined up and spaced about the same. Each layer is adhered with dimensionals. But to me the star of the card is the ribbon, snowflakes and button. Just by changing the paper and embellishments this card could be used for almost any occasion.

Old Fashioned Christmas Card

I really like the distressed look of this card. It kind of looks like something that has been around for years maybe even antique and even the ribbon looks aged and worn. The main image was stamped onto white card stock and cut out using an oval cutter. All of the edges of the card stock and designer paper were sponged using crumb cake ink. Once the main image was colored dazzling diamonds glitter was added using the 2 way glue pen. The organdy ribbon was heated using the heat gun to get the distressed look. You only need to heat it for a very short period of time and keep the heat gun moving to avoid creating holes and melting the ribbon.
