Ornament Window

It was so hard trying to get a picture of this card since the acetate is so reflective. To make the ornament I folded a piece of white card stock that measured 5 1/2" x 11" in half and cut out a 5" circle leaving about an inch on the top edge of the fold. The card front was embossed using the snowflake embossing folder and then a 3 1/4" circle was cut out using a circle cutter. For the frame cut a circle at 3 3/4" with the center circle of 3 1/4" removed. Cut a piece of acetate at 3 3/4" and stamp snowflakes with white staz-on ink, allow to dry before attaching to the frame piece. Stamp the main image centered on the inside of card, attach acetate piece to frame and then the framed piece to care front. Add sentiment and attach with dimensionals. To create the ornament top cut a piece of brushed silver card stock at 1 1/4" x 2 1/2" and punch edges using the eyelet border punch, attach to top of card. I also cut the bottom edge flat so that it can stand opened.

Cupcake Treat

Another birthday card but this time with paper piecing. This image was very easy to paper piece, actually most of the images from this stamp set would work great with paper piecing. The one thing to remember when paper piecing small images is to make sure that the patterned paper doesn't have images that are too large. This is also a great way to use up scraps of your DSP. The ribbon was attached using sticky strip and ruffled until I had it attached to my liking.

Grateful Blossom

Even though this flower is very dimensional, it can be flattened out to mail. It will probably require extra postage and a padded envelope but as the saying goes..."when you care enough to send the very best". The flower was created using the 1 3/4" scallop punch (4) and the 2 3/8" scallop punch (1). The scallop circles are crumpled and distressed enough to be able to peel them apart and have 8 small and 2 large felted scallop circles . The small circles are each folded into quarters and adhered in the center of the large felted circles at the center points. I actually sewed them on using embroidery floss but you may be able to use sticky strip or tombow glue. The corduroy brad helps to cover the floss and also creates the flower center. The flower was attached using tombow glue.

Season of Friendship

I don't normally make square cards probably because I'm just so used to the standard A2 cards but it is nice to change things up a bit. The base of the card is crumb cake sponged around the edges with chocolate chip ink and the DSP is from summer picnic (now discontinued) and it was also sponged with chocolate chip ink. I stamped the tree and leaves onto very vanilla and cut that into a 3 1/2" circle followed by a red circle cut at 3 3/4". The edges of the very vanilla and real red were distressed and then sponged with chocolate chip ink. The crumb cake scallops were created using the fancy flower punch. I used 3 flowers and sponged the edges with chocolate chip ink and snipped them apart and attached them to the real red circle. Additional leaves were stamped onto a scrap piece of very vanilla card stock, cut out and attached to the main image with dimensionals. Red twine was attached to the buttons and adhered with mini glue dots. Red gingham ribbon was tied to the main card base and the main image was then attached with dimensionals.

All Buttoned Up

The inspiration for this card came from Andrea Walford. I signed up to receive her 12 weeks of Christmas newsletter and this was the first idea. You can sign up to receive the emails on her blog here. I changed a few of the things but kept the same basic layout and color combinations. I LOVE this card. It looks fantastic in real life.
