Baby Boy Card

My niece is due to have a baby boy next month and I've been working on a baby afghan for her and finally finished it. Yeah! My husband had to go to Massachusetts yesterday and he will be taking her the baby afghan along with this card. The baby afghan was done in a variegated blue and white yarn and I wanted the card to have the same colors. I really like this stamp set for making baby cards and cards for young children because the images look like something a child would actually draw.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, DCWV Background Paper; Ink: Palette Noir Black, Bashful Blue, Ballet Blue; Stamps: Zoofari; Other: Ticket Corner Punch, Brilliant Blue Grosgrain Ribbon, Dew Drops, Dimensionals

Happy Birthday Earthling!

My nephew's birthday was on Tuesday and I still haven't given him his card yet but I thought I would post it anyway since he won't be looking at my blog. The background paper was the inspiration for the colors that I used for this card. The paper is some that I've had for awhile and I'm really working on using things I already have and not buying more. The background paper is from a KI Memories 12x12 pack and I was actually able to find SU card stock to match the background paper. The main image actually has sort of ray gun in his hand so I masked that off so that I could have him holding the balloons. After coloring in the images, I used crystal effects for the helmet and the balloons.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, KI Memories Background Paper; Ink: Basic Black, Bravo Burgundy, More Mustard, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Going Gray; Stamps: Greetings, Earthling, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Balloon Image; Other: Crystal Effects, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Large Oval Punch, Dimensionals

Wedding Card

This card was for my niece and her husband who were married on Saturday. The wedding was in Connecticut so my husband and I drove down for the wedding. Unfortunately, the weather was just horrible with rain and gale force winds. We didn't actually make it to the ceremony but were fortunate enough to attend the reception. Even though the weather was awful a good time was had by all. The inspiration for the card I saw here and there was even a template to download.

The dress was made using shimmery white card stock and I used the divine swirls cuttlebug embossing folder for the skirt portion of the dress. After embossing the skirt I used frost white shimmer paint to highlight the swirls in the skirt and added the scalloped edge and half pearls to finish the look. For the lapels on the tuxedo I embossed them using versamark ink and clear embossing powder and the buttons are shiny black brads. Both the dress and tuxedo are raised up using dimensionals. Since the bridesmaids dresses were in burgundy I wanted to try and incorporate that color within the card and decided to mount the dress and tuxedo onto a piece of bravo burgundy card stock that was embossed using the textile cuttlebug embossing folder.

Supplies Used: Paper: Shimmery White, Basic Black, Bravo Burgundy; Ink: Versamark; Other: Divine Swirls and Textile Cuttlebug Embossing Folders, Clear Embossing Powder, Scallop Edge Punch, Frost White Shimmer Paint, Black Brads, Half Pearls, Dimensionals

Love Birds Anniversary

This will be for my sister and her husband for their anniversary. It will be late again this year. I can never seem to get her anniversary card to her on time. I usually remember her anniversary a day late and of course I never have a card ready. I've seen several cards using this bird punch and had to try it.

Supplies Used: Paper: Naturals White, Bashful Blue, Brilliant Blue, Real Red, Regal Rose, Garden Green, Basic Black, Background Paper; Ink: Basic Black; Stamps: Teeny Tiny Wishes; Other: 2 Step Bird Punch, Word Window Punch, Modern Label Punch, Heart to Heart Punch, Crop-a-Dile, Swiss Dot Embossing Folder, 2-Way Glue Pen, Dimensionals

Birthday Cake

This is for my niece who turned 18 this year. It's so hard to believe that she will graduate from high school in a couple of months. This is a great way to use those small pieces of background paper that you just can't seem to throw away. Each strip is 1" wide and 3 3/4" long. I really like this layout and works well for an image that you want to stand on it's own.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Wild Wasabi, KI Memories Background Paper; Ink: Basic Black, Certainly Celery, Bashful Blue, Regal Rose, Rose Red, So Saffron; Stamps: Happy Moments; Other: Certainly Celery Satin Ribbon, Sherbet Designer Buttons, Linen Thread, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

With Sympathy

My husband's uncle passed away last week and this card will be sent to his aunt. I always have a difficult time with sympathy cards and I usually just keep them simple. I think this conveys peace and tranquility. The embosslit die "Beautiful Wings" is what inspired me for this card.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Mellow Moss, Barely Banana, Mellow Moss DSP; Ink: Mellow Moss; Stamps: Inspired by Nature; Other: Beautiful Wings Embosslit Die, Mini Pearls, Mellow Moss Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals
