Christmas Star

This is my card for the February 2014 Christmas card challenge.  The challenge was to make a card using non-traditional colors so no red & green or blue & silver.  I knew I wanted to use this star image and the color yellow came to mind so I got to use some of my yoyo yellow card stock. Yeah!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Christmas Star, Magical Season
Paper:  Whisper White, Yoyo Yellow, Basic Gray
Ink:  Yoyo Yellow, Basic Gray
Accessories:  Frost White Shimmer Mist, Rhinestones

Vintage Birthday

This was my daughter's birthday card this year.  I had a different card made but I wasn't happy with it and started from scratch.  I know she likes the vintage look and I remembered that Stampin' Up had a card kit last year using this dress form and the elements of style stamp set so that was how I ended up with this card.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Elements of Style, Itty Bitty Banners
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Almost Amethyst, Concord Crush, First Edition DSP
Ink:  Black, Crumb Cake, Almost Amethyst, Concord Crush, Certainly Celery, Old Olive
Accessories:  Dress Up Framelits, Apothecary Accents Framelits, Bitty Banners Framelits, Vintage Wallpaper Embossing Folder, Flower Trim, Pearls, Sponge Daubers, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals

"Love" Seat

This was the card I sent some very good friends of mine for their anniversary.  Since this was to be mailed, I kept things to a minimum even though I usually like a card with more dimension and embellishments.  I do like how it turned out even though it was simple.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Have a Seat
Paper:  Whisper White, Black, Baroque Burgundy, Night & Day DSP
Ink:  Black
Accessories:  Decorative Label Punch, Itty Bitty Shapes Punch, Small Heart Punch, Large Scallop Edgelits, Burgundy Grosgrain Ribbon, Dimensionals

Grandson's Valentine

I know this is a little late to post for Valentine's Day but this was the card I made for my 6 year old grandson.  He went shopping with my husband at Christmas time and wanted to buy this heart stamp for me and my husband told him "grandma has lots of stamps already".  But, he insisted he needed to buy grandma this stamp and when my husband asked him why he said "because we love each other"!  Of course my husband had to get it.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Holidays & Wishes, XO Heart (Hero Arts)
Paper:  Whisper White, Real Red
Ink:  Versa Mark, Real Red
Accessories:  White Embossing Powder, Black Embossing Powder, Confetti Hearts, Crystal Effects, Cuttlebug Just My Type Embossing Folder, Paper Snips

Train Punch Art

I found a tutorial on youtube by Sharon White with complete instructions to make this train.  It was very easy to follow and even if you don't have all of the same punches she used you could modify it to suit your needs.  This was the card I made for my grandson's first birthday and I made him a train cake too!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Vintage Labels
Paper:  Whisper White, Basic Gray, Black, Yoyo Yellow, Only Orange, Green Galore, Soft Suede, Going Gray, Glorious Green
Ink:  Basic Gray
Accessories:  Various SU Punches (see tutorial for specifics)

Birthday Wishes

This is another card I made for a co-worker's birthday.  She is also a stamper and sometimes it is difficult to come up with something different that she hasn't seen or made.  Although this looks simple enough getting the circle images lined up required the use of a stamp-a-ma-jig (love that tool)!

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Just Believe, Occasional Quotes
Paper:  Very Vanilla, Cool Caribbean, Real Red, Chocolate Chip
Ink:  Tempting Turquoise, Real Red, Old Olive, Chocolate Chip
Accessories:  Square Lattice Embossing Folder, Scallop Trim Border Punch, Bakers Twine, Labels Collections Framelits, Pearls, Stamp-a-ma-jig, Chalk Marker

Masculine Birthday Balloons

This is a CASE of a card I saw created by Dawn Tidd.  She used ribbon on her card but I was giving this to my husband for his birthday and wanted to keep it more masculine looking.  I also used card stock that has been discontinued as one of my goals this year is to use items in my stash.

Peace on Earth

I haven't been very good at keeping up with my blog so far this year but I've had some health issues but now that I'm on the mend I hope to get back to blogging on a regular basis.

Because I kept up with the Christmas card challenges in 2013 I wasn't stressed out trying to complete the 100+ cards that I make each year.  So, I decided to keep things going and I will be participating in the 2014 Christmas card challenges.

The January 2014 Christmas card challenge was to create a card based on the idea of peace.  For this card, I pulled out an older set that was discontinued long ago.  The ornament and sentiment really go together well.

Supplies Used:
Stamps:  Peace on Earth (discontinued), Greetings of the Season
Paper:  Whisper White, Glorious Green
Ink:  Versa Mark, Glorious Green, Bashful Blue
Accessories:  Northern Flurry Embossing Folder, Gold Embossing Powder, Gold Cord, Mini Glue Dots, Dimensionals
