Thank You

I had a minor surgery on Tuesday and the nurses and aides at the hospital were wonderful. I've never had any type of surgical procedure done before and I was naturally nervous. Everyone was great. I give all the people in the health care industry a lot of credit for everything they have to endure. I made this card to send to the staff of the ambulatory surgical floor.

Another Co-worker's Birthday

Another co-worker's birthday! This card is for a college student and I know he will really like the images used. I actually was inspired by a card that my nephews gave me last year for my birthday. It was a Hallmark card that played "Bad to the Bone"! They took me to breakfast for my birthday and had me open the card at the table. Everyone in the dining room was able to hear the card. I was surprised at how loud it was. But, I digress lets get back to this card. The card is square and fits the SU medium square envelopes (5 1/2" x 5 1/2"). The sentiments used were computer generated using the font "chiller". I don't remember what I ended up sizing the font at so that words would be the right size for the card. I found a drawing of flames on the web and printed them on card stock, cut them out and sponged them to get the effect I wanted. Overall I really like how this card turned out.

This is what the card looked like on the inside.

Here is a close-up of the skull and you can really see the glittery eyes and party hat as well as the shiny look on the crossbones from the crystal effects.

Abram's Birthday

It seems like I have alot of birthday cards to make in March. This card is for my nephew who turns 8 this year. This card seems like it should be for someone older but he is always telling me "I'm not a baby anymore" so I thought I'd make a card that reflected that. He has an older brother and of course seems older than his years. He is a great kid and I'm not just saying that because I'm his godmother ;)! He can always make me laugh and loves to tell jokes and clown around (my kind of kid).

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Always Artichoke, Bravo Burgundy, Background Paper (unknown); Ink: Bravo Burgundy, Alwyas Artichoke; Stamps: Party Hearty, Mini Mates; Other: Large Star Punch, Star Punch, Large Oval Punch, Designer Label Punch, Wide Oval Punch, 3/4" Circle Punch, Creative Memories Circle Cutter, square black brad, dimensionals, mat pack

Manager's Birthday

I tend to make all of the cards for most of the occasions for the people in my department at work. Most of the cards are for birthdays. The manager in our department always signs the cards upside down (not sure why) so I was asked to create his birthday card upside down. However, since there is so much thought and creativity put into each card I just couldn't bring myself to make the card totally upside down. This card opens from left to right so that it appears to be right side up but, if placed to open from right to left the images are upside down. Actually this layout for the card looks correct either way.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke, Background Paper (unknown); Ink: Always Artichoke, Bashful Blue; Stamps: Curly Label Punch Bundle; Other: Star Punch; 1 1/4" , 1" and 1/4" Circle Punches, Dimensionals, Buttons, Linen Thread

Jeff's Birthday

I had to make a quick card to get in the mail for a friend of mine. Not really sure how manly these colors are but I thought they looked good together. Green and blue are guy colors just not so sure about the orange but since the background paper had orange in it I went with it. Definitely a very bright, colorful and cheerful card though. I hope he likes it.

Supplies Used: Paper: Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Only Orange, background paper (unknown); Stamps: Bitty Birthday; Ink: Basic Black; Markers: Bashful Blue, Only Orange, Green Galore, Summer Sun; Other: Dimensionals
